NICK CAVE and BAD SEEDS BLIXA BARGELD and MICK HARVEY have joined SCOTT WALKER to provide the soundtrack to the new film by acclaimed Australian director John Hillcoat, To Have And To Hold. Walker sings 'I Threw It All Away' in the film, which is described as a 'romance noir' and stars French actor Tcheky Karyo, who previously starred in Nikita, and Rachel Griffiths who played Muriel in Muriel's Wedding. Cave, Bargeld and Harvey also co-wrote the score for Hillcoat's previous film, the 1988 cult movie Ghosts... Of The Civil Dead, in which Cave helped with script development and made a cameo appearance. Hillcoat also directed The Birthday Party's infamous 'Nick The Stripper' video and Bad Seeds' clips for their singles 'The Ship Song', 'Do You Love Me' and 'Loverman', as well as directing videos for Bargeld's band Einsturzende Neubauten.

A spokeswoman for Cave and the Bad Seeds said they had been Hillcoat's natural choice for his new film, which takes its inspiration from the melodramas of the '50s and '60s with a plot that comes from Hitchcock's Vertigo and Rebecca. It was filmed on location in Papua-New Guinea. The spokeswoman added: "Both as a mirror to the film's study in romantic obsession and personality disintegration, and as a body of work in its own right, To Have And To Hold amply demonstrates all the subtleties, dynamics and grace of the three Bad Seeds' compositional prowess."

The soundtrack to the new film is released on November 18. The tracklising is 'To Have And To Hold', 'The Jungle Of Love', 'Candlelit Bedroom', 'Luther', 'A House In The Jungle', 'Delirium', 'The River At Night', Mourning Song', 'Romantic Theme', 'Snow Vision', 'Rose', 'The Clouds', 'Noah's Funeral', 'The Fight', 'Kate Leaves', 'We're Coming (The Riot)', 'The Murder', 'The Red Dress', 'I Threw It All Away' (vocals by Scott Walker); 'To Have And To Hold' and 'Gangster Bone'.
